Hey, I’m Meg Carnie (she/her), an award-winning Entrepreneur, specialising in the creative sector. I was awarded AIM’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2024 within the music industry, where I dedicate myself to guiding emerging artists on their journey toward sustainable careers with deep industry insight.
I work with creative businesses, freelancers, creators and artists at both start-up and early phase, and during key developmental growth periods as a Business Strategist & Mentor for Creative Founders. I support a range of operations, from launch to development, marketing, strategy, and everything in between. I founded my first company in 2019 and have been working with SMEs since. I empower business owners to reach their full potential and career goals.
I am a small business enthusiast - championing the success of innovative, purposeful projects and entrepreneurs. I live in Brighton (East Sussex), and thrive in the creative culture our city has to offer. Downtime consists of socialising with friends over a meal or a country walk, strolls on Hove beach with a White Americano (and croissant from Real Patisserie), or renovating my lovely little home with my boyfriend and cat Kev!
My Story
I grew up in the rural areas of Ely (Cambridgeshire) and knew very early on, since I was 10, that I wanted to run my own business. Maybe from watching my mum run her dog grooming business, seeing my dad navigate the corporate world, or some other inspiration. Who knows?! What I also knew was that music guided my best decisions. From the age of 4 to 17, I was in dance school, and music was a great part of my life as an escapism and support through growing up, movement and life’s big moments.
Music was my first creative pursuit, but it turned out to be the training ground for something bigger: founding and running my own studio taught me that the challenges of building a creative business - cash flow, self-doubt, knowing your next step - are the same whichever industry you're in. That's what I now help other founders navigate, whatever they're creating. Music is what brought me to Brighton, where I now call home.
